ABOUT ME
I was thirteen years old when I saw Wicked on Broadway for my twelfth birthday. It was a very delayed birthday present, but I was about to learn that it would be well worth the wait. I remember entering that theatre and feeling the sense that something huge was about to happen, and I realized what that was after Defying Gravity. It was when my mom placed her hand on my shoulder and asked if I was okay when I realized I was crying. And all I - a once lost, angsty preteen who didn't have a clue of what to do in the future not only an hour ago - could say in response was "I want to do that."
(Cheesy, I know, but true!)
I am a storyteller who loves to act, sing, write, create, and wants to tell stories that allow everyone to feel heard. I mainly do musicals and plays and sometimes devised work, but I am willing to tell a story I feel passionate about in any capacity. I want my art to inspire others - the same way this kind of art has inspired me - and amplify the voices of those who don't feel as heard in this society, especially those of LGTBQIA+ youth and women, as I identify myself in both of those groups.
If you ever see me, you might notice a tattered green bracelet around my wrist. Back when it was in pristine condition, it said "Elphaba" on it, and it served (and still serves) as a reminder for where I want to be one day - help some lost, angsty preteen feel like they have a place in this world. And maybe they'll work to achieve that one day, too.
After all, some green girl once told me that "everyone deserves the chance to fly".
